Quedlinburg, A Village Christmas Market in the Beautiful Harz Mountains

Quedlinburg, Germany sits in a region known as the Harz Mountains. At the top of the Harz is where you will find the coldest point in all of Germany (Brocken). In the valleys of the Harz, you will find quaint villages like Quedlinburg or Wernigerode--all with beautiful castles, vintage storefronts, and cobblestone streets.

From November 23 until December 24th, you can visit this beautiful Village Christmas Market in Quedlinburg. And when you do, be sure to ride the old steam train up to Brocken, where you are sure to see the most amazing winter wonderland. Getting up and back down the mountain by steam locomotive is about a 2-3 hour affair and usually one begins the journey in the morning hours, making it the perfect adventure before spending the evening hours at the Christmas Market.
